Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years, focusing on people suffering from war zones and natural disasters. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and TV news reporter and anchor who is most famous for her work as a correspondent for the Today show, a news morning program aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was renowned for her coverage of humanitarian crises in war-torn countries and on natural disasters. Curry's mom is Japanese and her father is an American Navy Sailor. Her father met his mother in Japan while he was stationed there after World War II. Due to her father's service as a military officer and the frequent moves they made. Curry was a student at the high school in the city of Ashland, Oregon. The University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. Her exposure to different cultures and experiences during her upbringing may have influenced her empathy method of communication regarding global issues. Curry was often on the move along with her companion as well as did not go to a school for longer than two or three years. She went to schools located in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Ashland is where she finally completed the high school. She began a career that could lead to a successful career as a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news correspondent at this station at the age of 22. Then, she was anchor and reporter at KGW in Portland Oregon. After that, she moved in Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. In her time with the channel she received 2 Emmy Awards.
